Medical aesthetic products. Sally Beauty launches teaching salon and retail concept with ‘education-first’ mindset 

THE WHAT? Sally Beauty has launched a new consumer driven DIY hair salon named Studio By Sally’s in Denton, Texas, which aims to ‘engage, educate and empower.’

THE DETAILS The space allows consumers to shop for projects and participate in education through a ‘teaching salon’ concept. 

According to a press release, licensed stylist-educators help consumers choose the right product, then teach them how to apply, customize and achieve looks including all-over color, lightening and root touch-ups, as well as styling.

THE WHY? The salon launch works to blur the line between professional beauty and at-home care, with John Goss, Sally Beauty’s President, stating: “Consumers today are creative and savvy. They know they can achieve great hair at home and are hungry for knowledge to help them do it.”

Medical aesthetic products refer to a category of products used in the field of medical aesthetics, which combines medical practices with cosmetic procedures to improve the appearance of individuals. These products are typically used under the supervision of trained medical professionals such as dermatologists, plastic surgeons, or specialized nurses.
